Patent no. 202022000002267 Ministerial Patent Certificate
IRON PROBE REVERSE
Solid-state Copper/Copper Sulphate (Cu/CuSO4) reference electrode with integrated coupons for EIR-free potential measurement according to EN ISO 15589-1 and ISO 22426, for cathodic protection systems.
Iron Probe Reverse integrates two carbon steel polarization coupons (10 cm² for DC measurement and 1 cm² for AC measurement) placed only 8 mm from the porous plug: ohmic drops in the soil are virtually eliminated and the reading is extremely close to the real cathodic potential, even in high-resistivity soils.
Registered European trademark, patented.

Iron Probe Reverse Features
Discover innovation in cathodic protection with IRON PROBE REVERSE
High-quality materials:
The electrolyte is impregnated into a 12.5 cm² porous plug made of a solid-state Cu/CuSO4 and ceramic mixture with high hygroscopicity and conductivity, ensuring long-term measurement stability compared with smaller surface areas, even in high-resistivity soils.
The case is made of recycled polyoxymethylene and the electrode of 99% pure copper, for a lifetime of over 25 years.
Measurement Accuracy:
Thanks to the very short distance between coupons and porous plug (8 mm), Iron Probe Reverse delivers an extremely accurate measurement of the real EIR-free potential: with a real potential of -1.12 V, the measured Eon value is -1.22 V, a deviation of only 0.10 V.
The two carbon steel coupons allow both DC voltage (10 cm²) and AC voltage (1 cm²) measurements.
Protect your infrastructure with maximum reliability.
IRON PROBE REVERSE ensures accurate potential measurements that stay stable over time, even in the most challenging soils.
Request informationSpecific Applications:
IR-free potential measurement:
Iron Probe Reverse is used to evaluate the real cathodic potential, free of electrolyte ohmic drops, on cathodically protected pipelines, tanks and other buried metal structures.
High-resistivity soils:
The highly hygroscopic solid-state porous plug keeps the measurement stable even in high-resistivity natural soils with low chloride content (<200 ppm).
DC and AC measurements:
With its two integrated coupons (10 cm² and 1 cm²), a single probe measures both DC voltage and AC voltage at the test point.
Operational Benefits:
Ohmic drops virtually eliminated:
The distance of only 8 mm between coupons and porous plug minimises the residual IR drop, improving the reliability of the collected data.
Lower excavation costs:
The probe can be installed far from the structure without affecting performance, offering significant savings on excavation and reinstatement.
Long lifetime and storage:
Lifetime of over 25 years. When stored indoors in a dry place, protected from freezing and direct sunlight, the probe has an unlimited shelf life.
